Geared Trolley

The Kito Geared Trolley provides controlled, precise horizontal movement along I-beams and H-beams using a hand chain operated gear mechanism. Unlike plain push-pull trolleys, the geared trolley is ideal for shorter traversing distances and heavier loads where manual pushing is impractical. The operator pulls a hand chain to move the load left or right along the beam, providing smooth, steady motion with precise control. Kito geared trolleys feature high-strength, heat-treated wheels, sealed ball bearings for maintenance-free operation, and adjustable beam fit for tapered or flat-flanged beams. Capacities available for light-duty up to heavy industrial applications. The geared trolley pairs with Kito electric chain hoists and manual chain hoists.

Hand Chain Operation

Precise control over load movement, especially for shorter traversing distances

Ideal for Heavier Loads

Gear reduction reduces operator effort compared to push-pull plain trolleys

Heat-Treated Steel Wheels

Hardened wheels provide long service life under repeated use

Sealed Ball Bearings

Maintenance-free wheels require no lubrication or regular servicing

Adjustable Beam Width

Fits both tapered and flat-flanged beams without customization

Robust All-Steel Construction

Withstands demanding industrial conditions and heavy-duty cycles

Geared Trolley vs. Plain Trolley – Which Do You Need?

The choice comes down to load weight and traverse length. For lighter loads (under 1 ton) on longer beams where an operator can easily push the load, a plain trolley is sufficient. For heavier loads (over 1 ton) or when precise positioning is critical, a geared trolley provides superior control. The hand chain gives operators mechanical advantage – the same principle as a chain hoist applied to horizontal movement. For overhead cranes, workstation bridges, and assembly line feeders, the Kito geared trolley delivers controlled, steady movement.

Applications Using Kito Geared Trolleys

Overhead crane systems, workstation cranes, assembly line material supply, machine tool loading, die handling, heavy component positioning, warehouse bridge cranes, fabrication yard lifting, shipyard overhead handling, and industrial maintenance. Geared trolleys pair seamlessly with Kito ER2, EQ, CB, CX and wire rope hoists. For facilities without power along the crane beam or where frequent repositioning is needed, geared trolleys provide reliable manual control.
