Manual Chain Hoist vs. Lever Hoist – Which Do You Need?

Kito manual hoists fall into two categories. Manual chain hoists (CB and CX Series) are designed for vertical lifting only – the operator pulls the hand chain to raise or lower a load along a vertical path. These are the classic chain blocks found in workshops, warehouses and construction. Lever hoists (LB and LX Series) provide both vertical lifting and horizontal pulling – the operator moves a lever back and forth to raise, lower or tension a load in any direction. Lever hoists are ideal for aligning pipe flanges, tensioning cables, pulling equipment into position, or angled lifting where a chain hoist cannot operate. Select based on whether you need pure vertical lift (CB/CX) or multi-directional pull and lift (LB/LX).
