Angular Contact Ball Bearings

Angular contact ball bearings have raceways in the inner and outer rings that are displaced relative to each other in the direction of the bearing axis, enabling them to carry combined radial and axial loads. The contact angle (typically 25°, 30°, or 40°) determines the axial load capacity — the higher the angle, the greater the thrust capability. SKF offers single-row, double-row, and four-point contact variants, along with matched pair sets for high-stiffness, high-precision applications. These bearings are essential in electric motors, pumps, gearboxes, machine tool spindles, and automotive applications. Single-row angular contact bearings accommodate axial loads in one direction only, so they are invariably mounted in pairs or with a second complementary bearing. Preload and Arrangement Options for Angular Contact Bearings

Back-to-back (suffix DB) arrangements yield high rigidity and support moment loads. Face-to-face (DF) arrangements allow more misalignment tolerance.
