Bearings with Solid Oil
Bearings with Solid Oil are standard rolling bearings where the free space between the rolling elements and the cage is filled with a porous polymer matrix saturated with a high-quality synthetic oil. This solid lubricant occupies most of the bearing interior, providing a continuous oil supply for the entire bearing life. The polymer structure also acts as a barrier against moisture and contaminants. SKF Solid Oil bearings are ideal for applications with very high contamination levels (such as mining and quarrying), vertical shaft orientations, reciprocating operation, and locations where relubrication is difficult or impossible. They provide a clean, maintenance-free solution for up to three times longer relubrication intervals compared to greased bearings. Solid Oil also prevents lubricant washout in food processing and bottling lines. The technology is available across many deep groove, spherical, and insert bearing types.
