SKF
Bill of Materials (Mounted)
The bill of materials consolidates the complete mounted bearing specification: housing designation, bearing insert, adapters, seals, and fastening components. This documentation streamlines procurement and ensures all replacement parts exactly match the original design. SKF’s selection tools generate a BOM, reducing ordering errors and helping maintenance teams keep critical spares on hand.

Digital Integration
BOM data can be imported into ERP/CMMS for automated re‑ordering.
How the BOM Reduces Ordering Errors
A typical mounted unit may comprise five or more SKF part numbers. The BOM consolidates these into one assembly code. When a maintenance planner orders that code, they receive all the correct components, eliminating the risk of an oversized adapter or incompatible seal arriving separately — a frequent cause of repair delays.

Linking BOM to the Maintenance Management System
The SKF BOM can be exported as a CSV or XML file and uploaded directly into a plant’s CMMS. Critical fields like service interval, lubricant type, and required tools can be associated with the BOM, so the work order automatically contains all needed information when the maintenance task is scheduled.
