Cam Rollers
SKF cam rollers are yoke-type track rollers with an outer ring that has a flange or shoulder, providing axial location against a guide surface. They are designed to run on tracks, cams, or linear rails, carrying heavy radial load and providing lateral guidance. The internal needle roller or cylindrical roller bearing is sealed and pre-greased. Cam rollers are used in automatic guided vehicles (AGVs), machine tool slides, and material handling equipment. The flange helps resist tilting moments and keeps the roller in lateral position. SKF offers standard and crowned outer ring profiles, the latter compensating for minor alignment errors. These robust, ready-to-mount units improve motion system accuracy and reduce maintenance.

Cam Roller Selection for Guide Rails
Properly matching the roller profile to the rail profile is essential. Flat track uses crowned roller to avoid edge loading. U-shaped tracks use cylindrical outer ring. SKF’s range covers both, and their engineering guides assist in profile selection.

Heavy-Duty Use in Forklift Mast Guides
Forklift masts use cam rollers to resist both radial weight and lateral binding forces. SKF’s robust designs withstand impact loads and vibration, ensuring safe, smooth mast operation over thousands of cycles.
