SKF
Chains
SKF chains are high-quality transmission and conveyor roller chains manufactured to ISO 606 and ANSI B29.1 standards. The range includes single, double, and triple strand chains, heavy-duty series, and attachment chains for conveying. Each chain consists of precisely heat-treated pins, bushings, rollers, and link plates, assembled to achieve high tensile strength, fatigue resistance, and wear life. SKF chains drive machinery in demanding applications: hoists, forklift masts, combine harvesters, packaging lines, bottling conveyors, and oil drilling equipment. Lubrication is critical for chain life, and SKF provides guidance on lubricant selection and automatic chain lubrication systems. The chains can be supplied in pre-cut lengths or as continuous reels, with connecting links, offset links, and half-links for assembly. Using a matched SKF chain and sprocket set ensures optimal load distribution on sprocket teeth, reducing noise and extending the entire drive’s service intervals.

Quality steels and precise heat treatment meet rated breaking loads.
Excellent Wear Resistance
Hardened pins and bushings with controlled surface finish minimise elongation.
Pre-Loaded and Pre-Stretched
Reduces initial elongation, maintaining tension for longer.
Attachment Chain Options
Extended pins, bent plates, and welded attachments for conveying.
Corrosion-Resistant Versions
Zinc-plated and stainless steel chains for wet or chemical environments.
Global Dimensional Standards
ISO 606 and ANSI interchangeability.
Roller Chain Lubrication: Extending Conveyor Drive Life
Chains wear primarily at the pin-to-bushing interface due to inadequate lubrication. SKF chains perform best with regular oil or grease applied via brush, drip, or automatic oil+air systems. The lubricant must penetrate the internal clearances. SKF chain lubrication solutions, combined with proper sprocket selection, can double or triple chain service life in dusty, high-cycle applications.

Attachment Chains for Material Handling
Bottling and canning conveyors use attachment chains where brackets, flights, or pushers are mounted directly to the chain link plates. SKF supplies standard and custom attachment configurations that interface perfectly with the machinery’s pitch and guide rails, ensuring smooth product transport.
