Conveyor Pulley Housing (SDVD Series)
The SDVD series from SKF represents conveyor pulley housings specifically tailored for belt conveyor drive and tail pulleys in mining, quarrying, and bulk material handling. These are robust, non-split or split housings designed to accommodate spherical roller bearings with adapter sleeves or cylindrical bores. SDVD housings integrate high-performance labyrinth and contact seals that protect against abrasive dust, mud, and water. Their design allows reliable operation under the heavy shock loads and continuous running typical of large conveyors. The housing is cast from grey or spheroidal graphite iron, with reinforcement ribs to withstand belt pull forces and misalignment. SKF offers SDVD housings with regreasing facilities, enabling purging of contaminated grease and prolonging bearing life in inaccessible conveyor positions.

Conveyor-Optimised Design
Handles high belt pull and radial bearing loads.
Advanced Sealing
Labyrinth + V-ring or taconite to exclude bulk material dust.
Adapter Sleeve Mounting
Simplifies shaft design and bearing fitting.
Robust Castings
Thick walls and ribbing resist deflection under tension.
Easy Relubrication
Grease channel to bearing with purge capability.
Long Service in Dirty Environments
Proven in iron ore, coal, and aggregate conveyors.
Why SDVD Housings Reduce Conveyor Downtime
Conveyor pulley bearings are often in hard-to-access locations. The SDVD’s durable sealing and regreasing system allow intervals of 1,000 hours or more between maintenance. When finally required, the split design (if selected) allows a bearing change without removing the heavy pulley and belt, cutting days of repair to hours.

Sealing Against Wet and Slurry Conditions
In wet screening and washing plants, the SDVD housing with double-lip contact seal and V-ring sheds water while retaining grease. An optional flinger ring adds centrifugal protection against slurry ingress, preserving bearing reliability.
