Lubricants
SKF lubricants are high-performance greases and oils specifically formulated for rolling bearings, plain bearings, and industrial machinery. The range includes mineral, synthetic, and solid-oil options, each designed to provide optimal viscosity, wear protection, corrosion resistance, and temperature stability for specific applications. Key families include LGHP 2 (high-speed, high-temperature), LGEP 2 (extreme pressure), LGEV 2 (vibrating screen), LGWM 2 (wide temperature, marine), and LGFP 2 (food-grade, NSF H1 registered). SKF also supplies Solid Oil (oil-saturated polymer matrix) for contamination-resistant, maintenance-free applications. Each lubricant is tested under real-world conditions in SKF’s laboratories, ensuring it meets the demands of the bearing, speed, load, and environment. Correct lubricant selection — matching the base oil viscosity, thickener type, and additive package to the bearing’s operating conditions — is the single most important maintenance decision. SKF’s LubeSelect tool simplifies this process, guiding users to the right product.

How to Select the Right SKF Grease Using LubeSelect
SKF’s online LubeSelect tool asks for bearing type, operating speed, temperature, load, and environmental factors, then recommends the optimal grease. It calculates the relubrication interval and quantity, taking the complexity out of grease selection and ensuring the bearing achieves its design life.

Solid Oil vs. Conventional Grease: Maintenance-Free Bearing Lubrication
Bearings with Solid Oil are filled with a porous polymer matrix saturated with synthetic oil. This solid lubricant cannot be washed out, resists contamination ingress, and eliminates the need for relubrication. Ideal for food processing, mining, and vertical shaft applications where conventional grease relubrication is difficult or impossible.
