Oil Supply Units
SKF oil supply units are the core assemblies for oil circulation lubrication systems, integrating the oil tank, pumps (main and standby), filters, heat exchangers, control valves, and instrumentation onto a single skid. They are designed to reliably deliver temperature-controlled, clean oil to turbine bearings, compressor bearings, large gearboxes, and other critical rotating equipment. The units are available in standard sizes (tank capacity from tens to thousands of litres) and can be custom-engineered for specific flow, pressure, cooling duty, and redundancy requirements. SKF’s oil supply units are built with industrial-grade components and include full factory acceptance testing (FAT) before shipment. Their deployment significantly reduces on-site engineering and piping work, providing a guaranteed-performance lubrication source for the plant’s most valuable machinery.

Thermostatic Temperature Control
Oil heater and water‑cooler maintain optimal viscosity.
Off‑Line Filtration Loop
Kidney loop maintains oil cleanliness without interrupting main flow.
Low‑Level and High‑Temperature Alarms
Hardwired to DCS.
Stainless Steel or Carbon Steel Construction
Material matched to oil type and environment.
Drip‑Tray and Containment Bund
Environmental protection against accidental spills.
Design Life >25 Years
Built for continuous process plant duty.
The Off‑Line Filtration Loop: Keeping Oil Ultra‑Clean
A separate, continuously running filtration circuit removes particles down to 3‑5 µm, independent of the main oil flow to the bearings. This maintains oil cleanliness at ISO 4406 16/14/11 or better, consistently, which directly extends bearing life by a factor of 2‑3x.

Customising an Oil Supply Unit for a Remote Desert Pipeline Pump
The unit was equipped with a sand‑storm‑resistant air intake filter, a high‑efficiency air‑blast cooler (no cooling water available), and a satellite‑connected telemetry module that reported oil level, pressure, and temperature to the central control room 300 km away.
