SKF RecondOil

SKF RecondOil is a revolutionary industrial oil regeneration technology that strips used oil of contaminants and degradation products, restoring it to a cleanliness and chemical state equivalent to or better than new oil. Unlike conventional filtration, which removes only solid particles, RecondOil’s Double Separation Technology (DST) also removes sub-micron dissolved contaminants, varnish, and oxidation products. The result is oil that can be reused indefinitely, drastically reducing the need for new oil purchases and waste oil disposal. RecondOil systems are applied in metalworking, die-casting, and industrial gearboxes, often as a continuous side-stream process integrated with the existing oil system. By maintaining oil in peak condition, RecondOil extends both lubricant life and the life of the bearings, gears, and pumps that depend on it. This aligns directly with corporate sustainability and circular economy goals, significantly lowering the CO2 footprint and oil-related operational costs.

Complete Oil Regeneration

Removes particles, varnish, dissolved contaminants, and oxidation products.

Eliminates Oil Changes

Oil can be reused indefinitely, reducing new oil purchases by up to 90%.

Bearing and Gear Life Extension

Ultra-clean oil minimises wear and surface degradation.

Reduces Hazardous Waste

Almost zero liquid waste oil disposal.

Lower CO2 Footprint

Drastically cuts emissions associated with oil production, transport, and disposal.

Continuous In-Line Operation

RecondOil integrates as a side-stream on the oil system, cleaning while the machine runs.

How RecondOil DST Technology Works

The Double Separation Technology first agglomerates sub-micron contaminants using a proprietary booster fluid, then uses fine bubble separation to float the agglomerates to the surface, where they are skimmed off. The result is oil cleaned to a level conventional filtration cannot achieve, with dissolved oxidation products and varnish precursors removed, restoring the oil’s base performance.

RecondOil in Die-Casting and Metalworking Applications

Die-casting hydraulic fluids and metalworking coolants degrade rapidly under high temperature and contamination. RecondOil DST systems maintain these fluids in as-new condition, eliminating the frequent oil changes that disrupt production and generate large waste oil volumes. The payback period often falls below 12 months due to savings on oil purchase, labour, and downtime.
