Support Rollers
Support rollers are yoke-type track rollers without axial flanges, designed solely for high radial loads on a raceway or track. They use needle roller or cylindrical roller bearings with a thick, hardened outer ring that acts as the rolling surface. SKF support rollers are available with or without inner rings, in single or double row configurations. They are the backbone of many conveyor and transfer systems, supporting heavy carrier chains, slide bogies, and overhead rail trolleys. The sealed, pre-greased units require no maintenance. The outer ring absorbs shock loads and deformation from track irregularities, protecting the internal bearing. SKF’s optimized crowning reduces stress concentrations, extending track and roller life simultaneously.

Pure Radial Load Support
Maximizes capacity without axial constraint.
Thick Outer Ring
Acts as the rolling tyre, durable against track wear.
Sealed and Lubricated
Long service life with no maintenance.
High Load, Low Noise
Rolling motion minimizes vibration and power loss.
Crowned or Cylindrical Profile
Matched to flat or profiled tracks.
Versatile Mounting
Yoke mounting with standard shaft fits.
Support Rollers in Overhead Conveyor Systems
Automotive assembly lines use thousands of support rollers in power-and-free conveyors. SKF’s reliable, sealed units withstand constant motion, occasional overloads, and dusty or painted environments, delivering 24/7 uptime with minimal replacement.

Difference Between Support Rollers and Cam Rollers
Support rollers lack the axial guiding flange, making them suitable for purely vertical load support. If lateral forces need to be aligned, a cam roller with flange is used, or a pair of tapered support rollers can be arranged.
