Tyrolit Circular Brushes | Heavy-Duty Wheel Brushes for Power Tools & Bench Motors
Tyrolit Circular Brushes are robust, rotating wheel brushes designed for mounting on bench grinders, angle grinders, and cleaning machines to perform aggressive surface cleaning. Available in knotted, crimped, and standard twist knot configurations, these circular wire brushes excel at removing heavy rust, thick paint, welding slag, and heavy scale from large metal surfaces and structural steel. The knotted wire versions provide maximum impact and aggression for demanding jobs, while crimped wire circular brushes produce a finer, more uniform brush finish for lighter cleaning and texturing. Tyrolit circular brushes are manufactured with tempered high-carbon steel wire or, for stainless steel and non-ferrous applications, with INOX stainless steel and brass wire to eliminate corrosion contamination. The bushes are center-mounted, typically with a ring lock or arbor nut, and are precisely balanced for vibration-free operation at the high speeds of bench grinders. For maintenance and weld preparation in heavy industry, Tyrolit circular brushes are the workforce of the cleaning range, trusted for their durability and wire retention.

High-Aggression Knotted Wire Construction
Twisted wire knots create a concentrated, aggressive impact, blasting away heavy slag, thick rust, and burnt residue faster than standard crimped brushes.
Crimped Wire Options for Fine Cleaning
Crimped, straight-cut wire provides a gentler, flexible brushing action that removes light corrosion and paint without damaging the base metal profile.
High-Speed Balanced Operation
Each brush is dynamically balanced during manufacturing, eliminating the wobble and vibration that causes premature spindle wear and operator fatigue.
Extended Life Wire Retention
Tyrolit’s proprietary knotting and bonding processes prevent wire breakage and ejection, ensuring longer work intervals between brush replacements and safer operation.
INOX and Brass Material Versions
Dedicated stainless steel and brass circular brushes prevent ferrous contamination on stainless, aluminium, and brass workpieces, preserving their corrosion resistance and appearance.
Universal Arbor Sizes
Standard bore sizes fit all common bench grinders and spindle-mount machines, with adapter rings available for non-standard spindle diameters.
Why Tyrolit Circular Brushes Are the Industrial Standard for Surface Prep
The life and safety of a wire brush depend on the quality of the wire and its consolidation. Tyrolit uses only oil-tempered, high-tensile wire that flexes without snapping, maintaining its cutting aggression for a longer period. The knotting technique ensures that as the wire tips wear, fresh sharp edges are exposed. Unlike cheap brushes that shed wire rapidly, creating a safety hazard and requiring constant replacement, Tyrolit circular brushes maintain their pack density, delivering consistent performance. For industries like shipbuilding and structural steel, where hours of continuous brushing are required, the total cost of ownership of Tyrolit brushes is significantly lower due to this longevity.

Selecting the Right Circular Brush for Bench and Angle Grinders
Selection criteria: wire type (knotted for heavy, crimped for medium), wire material (carbon steel, INOX, brass), and brush diameter. Bench grinder wheels are typically 150–200 mm and used for off-hand part cleaning. Angle grinder wheels are 100–125 mm for portability. Tyrolit’s data sheets clearly state the maximum safe RPM for each brush, which must be compared to the tool’s no-load speed. The correct wire material must always be used to prevent cross-contamination—critical in food, pharma, and nuclear fabrication.
