Tyrolit Power Packs | Hydraulic & High-Frequency Electric Drive Units for Diamond Tools

Tyrolit Power Packs are the remote, high-output energy sources that drive Tyrolit’s professional range of hydraulic and high-frequency electric diamond sawing and drilling equipment, including wall saws, wire saws, and heavy-duty core drills. These power packs convert a primary energy source—diesel engine, petrol engine, or mains electricity—into precisely controlled hydraulic flow and pressure, or high-frequency three-phase current, to operate diamond tools at their optimal speed and torque at a distance from the actual cutting location. This separation allows the cutting head to be extremely compact, lightweight, and spark-free (for hydraulic models), enabling access into confined spaces, submerged applications, and ATEX-rated explosive atmospheres where a standard electric motor would be unsafe. Tyrolit’s range includes compact single-phase hydraulic packs for service core drilling, powerful diesel hydraulic packs for remote wall and wire sawing on infrastructure projects, and sophisticated electronic high-frequency converter units for precise, programmable electric wall saws. The power packs are designed for rigorous daily transport and jobsite abuse, with heavy roll cages, integrated lifting points, and simple, reliable controls. For the specialist concrete cutting contractor, the Tyrolit power pack is the versatile engine at the center of their fleet, capable of powering a wall saw head one day, a wire saw the next, and a large diameter core drill the day after, maximising equipment utilization and return on capital investment.

Remote Power for Confined and Hazardous Locations

Hydraulic power packs enable the cutting head to be placed deep inside structures, underwater, or in ATEX Zone 1 areas, with all electrical or combustion sources safely outside the danger zone.

Multi-Tool Compatibility

A single Tyrolit hydraulic power pack can interchangeably power Tyrolit wall saw heads, wire saws, and large core drills, consolidating fleet investment and simplifying operator training.

Electronic Constant-Power Control (ECC)

Tyrolit high-frequency electric packs monitor blade load and adjust power delivery to maintain optimum cutting speed, preventing blade stalling and protecting the motor on the cutting head.

Rugged, Site-Ready Construction

Protective steel tube frames, integrated lifting eyes, forklift channels, and weather-proof control panels ensure the power pack survives the harsh job site and construction yard environment.

Efficient Diesel and Petrol Engine Options

Fuel-efficient, emission-compliant engines provide total independence from the electricity grid for remote bridge, highway, and pipeline cutting projects.

Simple, Intuitive Hydraulic Controls

Clearly labelled pressure gauges, flow control valves, and quick-connect couplings (flat-face, non-drip) allow rapid setup and precise adjustment of cutting speed without specialist hydraulic knowledge.

Why Tyrolit Power Packs Are the Heart of a Professional Concrete Cutting Fleet

A concrete cutter’s productivity is dictated by the reliability of their power source. Tyrolit hydraulic power packs are manufactured with high-precision pumps and motors that deliver consistent flow and pressure, hour after hour. This consistency is what gives the diamond blade its long life: a pulsing or fluctuating hydraulic flow causes the blade to hammer in the cut, damaging segments. Tyrolit’s electronic control packs (for high-frequency saws) take this further by actively managing the saw head’s load, ensuring the blade never bogs down in tight reinforcement. For an industry where equipment failure can mean a costly bridge closure overrun, the robust simplicity of Tyrolit diesel packs—paired with Tyrolit’s global spare parts network—provides the uptime needed to meet critical project deadlines.

Selecting the Right Power Pack: Hydraulic vs. High-Frequency Electric

Hydraulic packs (diesel or electric motor-driven) are selected for maximum versatility, remote access, and ATEX requirements. High-frequency electric packs are preferred for wall sawing where programmable, automated cutting cycles, and high-speed precision are required. Tyrolit’s application engineers specify the power pack based on the primary sawing tasks, the largest blade diameter to be driven, and the expected site power availability.
