Counterfeit bearings often exhibit roughness (tight spots), gritty texture (contamination from inadequate cleaning during manufacture), or unusual noise. Also check radial play — excessive play indicates undersized rolling elements or worn raceways.

6. Price Below Distributor List

This is the simplest and most reliable indicator. If a bearing is priced significantly below the authorised distributor's price — say 30–50% less — it is almost certainly counterfeit.
